Slipknot's new album came out on Tuesday and I have been listening to it non stop when I'm not on the phone at work (in my truck). I think everyone know's how much of a die-hard "knot" fan I am so of course I'm going to give the album a great review. I have all their albums and know almost every song by heart down to the drum beats. But there's just something about a live album that I cant quite put my finger. Only way that I can explain it is, close your eyes and you become a part of the chaos.

Feel free to download, but I always buy the album to support bands that I enjoy.

I hate when people say it's talentless because there's 9 of them. You get 9 guys together and see how hard it is to make them all fit in to a song. Perfectly.

Talent is in the perception of the listener. I could say that any musician is talented. You may disagree. I could say that a girl is beautiful. You may disagree.

I'll disagree with that. Talent, is just something that either a group has or doesn't have. Whether you like it or not, is your opinion. They could be talented, and you could hate them.

Recognizing talent and ignorance are two seperate things. In actuallity if a band can sell any records at all, regardless if we think they are good or not means that someone out there in the world thinks they have talent. Hence, why I say talent is in the eye of the beholder.

Being ignorant is to say that any band sucks. When confronted with the question "Do you like (insert name here)?" and if you reply "They suck" that spells ignorance.

Its better to respond with "That style of music is not for me" or something of that nature. Your not making a negative statement, but your still saying that you don't listen to them.

Too any who doubt the talent of this band I simply ask that you see them live and in person. I had never even heard of Slipknot until Ozzfest 99'. In fact, no one had. I came home that night with scratches, bumps, bruises and no voice whatsoever. I did all of that during Slipknot's set...and through a bit of Pantera's hehe.

If you cant get into it after that I will offer a complete apology to Iceman and refund the price of his ticket. But 9 people playin in sync like that is amazing when all you expect is total chaos.

Yeah, I totally love Slipknot and esepecially their new stuff. They seem to evolve into something entirely different with each successive album while still holding true to their metal roots. R.I.P Dimebag

Oh yeah, also check out Killswitch Engage. Their stuff is awesome.

I've never actually got into Slipknot, but holding together a band of nine people must be incredible, holding a band of 4 together is hard enough, and I would know about that.
