Wednesday, January 19 2005, 10:23:26 #20540 I remember travelling Europe with my best buddy Jamie (he's American) two years ago. We were on our way up to Stockholm using the train. I DID look at the map beforehand and I noticed this little gap between Denmark and Sweden. It's between Copenhagen and Malm?. I was curious how we'd get over the sea.
All of a sudden, the train went slower, came to a halt and started again. 1 Minute later we found ourselves onboard of a ship! It was crazy. It took us over the gap and we continued up to Stockholm... I was really pissed we only got to Sverige once it had gotten dark. I'm more of a scenery guy than one of those that will look for sights and shit. |

Thursday, January 20 2005, 10:14:56 #20574 There is one on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. It's called the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. It has 2 sections that go under water. I've been across it many many times.
They've added a new 2nd bridge to it so traffic can go both ways on their own bridge. Before it was a 2 way bridge all the way across and through the tunnels. Now it's 2 bridges but they still merge together before going into a 2 lane tunnel. Imagine passing a semi truck going the other way doing 50mph only 2ft away from you in a tunnel. The suction it creates sucks you toward it. There are many many accidents because of that. And since it's a 2 lane bridge whenever there is an accident it backs up traffic for miles. It is considered one of the 7 man made wonders of the United States. |
