My brother has a problem with his computer. It is running slower than usual and he has constant jerkiness in games. And also when he right clicks on desktop and clicks Properties he can't get on to the Display tab. The dialog box just disappears. The same thing happens with the Settings -> Advanced tab. We've tried updating his drivers, ad-aware and spyware checks, virus checks and registry fix. He doesn't want to format. If format is the only option, then say.

What are the system specs?

Does it only do it in certain games? or everything?

Did it just start? or did it start after an install?

Ironically, it started after updating graphics drivers.

Have you tried rolling the drivers back?

I told him to but he doesn't want to because he 'likes the drivers'. Don't ask. He reckons it's not the drivers but I'm pretty much certain now.
