Friday, July 29 2005, 16:21:04 #27849     DO NOT INSTALL IE 7

There is a beta of IE 7 floating around the net. I installed it yesterday and it fucked up half my windows and Trillian. It installs new XML and URL handling code, you CAN NOT uninstall it, with ANY software, it replaces some core files, a lot of software that uses skins will stop working (because it uses XML). I had to scrape the scarce install logs and manually install IE 6 back file by file, over 30 files replaced.

The only new things I saw was tabbed browsing (in fact, it started looking like Firefox lol) and protection from phishing website.

Firefox is SLOWER than IE especially when it comes to rendering pictures, and simple JavaScript exploit can read your RAM directly, with all passwords and other stuff. Properly tuned IE is better than any browser except Opera and Maxthon.

Firefox is shit because it's in early develpment, and they are hiding it. What you are using is a raw beta. Wait till vesion 3+ comes out and it will becamse same POS as IE for $29.99 - freeware doesn't pay bills.

Get Opera or Maxthon.

I was stupid to install new IE without thinking old programs may not work with new DLLs. Wasn't IE's fault, was mine.

Tab browsing roots to early Opera. Firefox is a GUI rip off of opera and old netscape.

yap thats true opera was the first browser with tab browsing
and IE is a good browser because he is handy, works with almost all plugins/online tools and most of them are written for IE before they were modified to other browsers/platforms
