NOTE: It doesn't matter what slash you use before the commands, /connect and \connect does exact same.

Game: Quake III
MOD: X-Battle or CPMA
Capacity: 32 players


Server runs CPMA or X-Battle mod. To download the mod, run your quake and type the following in your console:

We run a mod that has "unlagged" code, meaning 100% accurate hit tests for your instant-hit weapons such as machinegun, shotgun, lightning gun and railgun.

If you ping above 80, you can compensate for projectile lag (rockets, plasma, grenades) by setting \cl_timeNudge to a value in a range of 0 to -50 (minus fifty) and setting cg_projectileNudge to your ping less timenudge. Setting cl_timenudge too low on a slow computer or if you ping is low may cause "choppy" graphics.

Example: you ping 86

\cl_timenudge -40 (so now effective ping is: 86 - 40 = 46)
\cg_projectilenudge 46

This configuration will allow you to somewhat reduce lag when you fire rockets/plasma, and will allow to dodge opponent's rockets/plasma easier.

When you spectate, set cl_timenudge back to 0, otherwise graphics will look choppy.

\rate 90000 variable allows you to download maps/mods faster, at about 25 KB/s. With rate at 10000 - 25000 you will download at 5-10 KB/s.

\snaps 40 ensures you receive all updates server sends you. Normally "noob" servers run at 20 updates/sec, ours run at 25 or 40 to provide smoother game play and demos.

\cl_maxpackets 63 (try 125 as well, if you have fast connection) ensures you send enough updates to the server for accurate hit tests and smooth movement.

\com_maxfps 125

allows you to get smooth graphics (125 frames per second) versus default 85.

Is there a specific reason why baseq3 is running on the server?
I don't ping all that bad... but I'm a bit unused to the physics.

Finally got the server back.. now I need to reinstall Q3, after my cpu problems I never got around putting everything back on my computer.
