Wednesday, April 4 2007, 21:08:30 #39836 DRINKING WINE Does anyone here other than me drink wine? I prefer red..and really enjoy Italian Red Wine.. anyone want to make some suggestions?
I love Brunello (any variety from them) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunello_di_Montalcino and I also love Banfi (Chianti Classico) other recommendations or suggest would be great... The Brunello can be a bit pricey (most I have paid is 200 a bottle) and the Banfi is made from the same grapes as Brunello but for a fraction of the cost (17.99 -19.00) _________________

Monday, April 16 2007, 21:03:06 #39923 depends on where .. I pay 22.99 for that ruffino 2002..the 2001 is 30 bucks. (I meant costly as in affordable). I usually buy this wine :
as its about 20 bucks a bottle but as good as a 50 dollar brunello!

Sunday, June 17 2007, 18:15:49 #40152 If you haven't tried it already, give MASI, Valpolicella a shot Another good one is Terre Dei Volsci, Velletri. Its a limited edition vintage Italian red wine and very tastey Another one I like is Reserva Casillero del Diablo, Merlot. Its a red wine from Chile I'm not a huge fan of white wine, but I tried one awhile back that was simply awesome! Its called Petter Leehman, Unwooded Chardoney. If you havene't tried this one, I suggest to give it a go. It doesn't taste anything like other white wines I've tried because it is "unwooded" so it doesn't taste like pine tree. In fact its very smooth |

Sunday, June 17 2007, 22:24:23 #40156 I am not a fan of white wine either.. I much prefer a full bodied red but as the weather gets hot I am getting into reds like Pinot Noirs that can be chilled.. I found this great sparkiling red italian wine called "Rosa Regale (Brachetto d'Acqui) from banfi.. I like Banfi wines as you can tell.. Its very good as a desert wine but...good for summer.. check it out:

Tuesday, June 19 2007, 07:45:46 #40160 My wife and I prefer California wines, and we like to try different wines and use this link http://www.wineloverspage.com/qpr/ when looking for something different. They rate them very well and mostly are on target - from the cheap wines to the more expensive Pertimali 2004 Rosso di Montalcino $30 - and loved the Pizzano 2004 Chantilly $10. Enjoy! _________________ The Harder You Work The Luckier You Get! |

Tuesday, June 19 2007, 12:04:26 #40161 I think it's interesting how many wine drinkers are amongst us When I buy a wine, I go for a PORTO. They cost around $15-20 but they're WELL worth the money. Also, it's not really a wine but more like a liquor. Something in between actually. Very fruity and plenty of alc (~19%)... |

Hey Oldie...if you like the Pertimali Rosso di Montalcino.. You should try the Banfi 2004 Rosso.. It is VERY good and is priced very good around 22.00 bucks. I have also tried some California Wines.. I try a different wine each week. Thanks for the link.. |
