Wednesday, October 5 2005, 11:55:20 #29148 Hi Gazz...
No direct answer, but a couple things to look at/try. Next time you start a Q3 game, change to 'window' mode. Press ALT+Enter... this takes Quake out of full-screen mode and puts it in window mode. (ALT+Enter to return to full-screen mode.) Then, when the mouse 'freezes', bring down the console with the keyboard key ( ` =above Tab key). Do you have the mouse pointer?? If you have the mouse pointer, you should be able to drag the Q3 'window' around the screen. If so, this has to be setup problem (next paragraph) or rendering problem (last paragraph). Also, check in Q3 setup... {ESC}/Setup/ There are several config settings in there. Check the different setup menus... change only ONE setting at a time and then try it. Lastly, since mouse movements are translated into character movements, could this be a Direct X error. You haven't installed new version of Direct X or OpenGL, have you? keep us posted on your progress... |
