Sunday, April 3 2005, 21:04:29 #23973     Fuck yard work

I fuckin hate yard work! My backyard was so overgrown I was forced to do something about it today. I had my weed wacker going and was crusin through the weeds when I came up on a patch of "fire plants" that were about 6ft by 10ft and 4ft high. Not taking a second to think, I busted into them without mercy and was quickly shot in the legs, arms, and face with stinging plant parts. Mad Sad

That's what all the kids in my area called them growing up. I couldn't find a pic on the net because I don't know what they are really called and I would have taken a pic but I already sent them all to hell. Evil grin

Fuck astronomical rent, I'll take the plant abuse. Very happy

In my parents' backyard, there is an old piece of sheet metal, from a shed that they had back in the day, that is just lying in the back corner by the garage. Now, while mowing their lawn, I clipped the edge of the sheet metal with the push mower. What happened next confused and scared me at the same time. I felt several sharp pains in my right calf. These sharp pains quickly faded into a deep burning that I had never felt before. Now, living in Florida, water moccasins http://www.wf.net/~snake/moccasin.htm are VERY common. While being lucky and never ben bitten, I have seen several in my parents' neighborhood, as the subdivision is bordered by undeveloped land. I litteraly jumped back several feet and began looking for my attacker(s), very anxious not to get bitten on my retreat. As I visually scanned the ground while slowly backing up, something small and yellow flew into my vision and I felt that sharp sting again on my cheek. More and more of these small yellow and black insects began to cyclone out from underneath the sheet metal. There was a yellowjacket http://milwaukee.uwex.edu/urbanag/bugnet2/outdoors/outfly/yellowjacket/yellowjacket.html nest under that old shed door. Fuckers. At least it wasn't snakes.

I guess there are some good times when working out in the yard too. Like when you run something over with your lawnmower.Evil grin I think these are the objects that I've hit: baseball, neighbord's frisbee that always ends up in my yard, hammer, rake, large rocks, board, too many sprinkers to count, can of spray paint, probably a lot more. The can of spray paint was by far the coolest. It scared the shit out of me when I hit it, I thought I blew the lawn mower up, when I looked under it the grass was all black. Most of this stuff I don't run over on purpose, it is hidden in tall grass. You see, once the mower is fixed from hitting something the grass is tall again and I hit something else, it's a vicious cycle. Tongue

i posted this before, but someone deleted it for some reason... i dont get it. anyways, does it look like this. a little fyi the plant in the pic is called nettle. The small, hollow hairs in stinging nettle contain several irritating substances such as histamine, serotonin, acetylcholine and formic acid. Thats why it burns. That is of course, if its the same plant. Why delete info like this?
