Hey, I recently started getting into photography and decided to pick up a decently cheap beginner camera. (Cannon rebel 2000 film SLR).

I've read only everywhere that I should immediately purchase a new Lens for it, since the camera is good, but the lens is comes with; is not.


Anyone have good suggestions for where I can purchase one, preferably AF?

what kind of lense are you looking for? fixed or zoom? wide angle or other? I have a canon eos also and 3 lenses.. 2 cheap canon zoom lenses and one sigma wide zoom.

Oie! Long time no post!

Just standard zoom, I have a little rebel 2000 so i can learn cameras, I'll step up later to a digital.

I just ordered two tamron lenses, and have the standard 28-80mm that comes with my camera.

there's no such thing as a cheap canon lens though, cripes they're expensive.

well.. i am talking less than 300 is cheap... but yeah..if u need help..let me know..

Yeah less than 300 IS cheap for canon, you can usually find a tamron or sigma that does the same if not better for less.

Someone kept trying to get me to buy a 28-300 sigma, but from what I've read those don't perform as well as a simple 70-300 lens, plus since it was going to be a digi zoom lens I'd probably end up with a lot of vignetting.

are you still looking for lenses? i am going to be selling my 70-200 MM. its a good lense..
