I finished it in 2 stages, first one was a 20-hour session without leaving the comp, only to take a piss, and second was a 4-hour stretch, starting with the huge 4-level rotating lift and till the end.

I love the "hell" maps, they really kick ass!

I had a few dreams in regards to games and 2 of them came true:

1) Idea with PDA
2) Computer screens with actually "useful" data, not just lame textures.

For more realism shdows should be softer (blurred).

i was thinking about waiting a couple months till the price drops a bit but jesus from the looks of the screenshots d3 really is in a league of its own again. id really did a great job using the normal mapping. i think doom has a distinct advantage over unreal in the way they are allowed to create the schemes of levels. unreal is supposed to be futuristic which means they have to do a lot of work in fine detailing futuristic looks. doom and quake have always been more on the evil side of things. allowing for rustic levels and blood all over the place. that is an awesome ss of the blood and messages on the walls. i don't think i could have imagined better looking textures. i'm definitely going to have to find a way to save up some money for it. it looks revolutionary which is what i always expect from id. i hope q4 takes d3 and massively improves upon the engine. everyone is complaining about pings in multiplayer. it's not all about the system i'm sure. something to do with their new engine is making the ping avgs skyrocket. that's what i've heard anyway because i dont have the game yet. just what people are saying on the dod forums. awesome screenshots wartex. beautiful card you have.

The mp feels like quake 2, except the balance is wayyyy off, and not as smooth feeling as q2. Thats cool though, im gonna check out HL2 when it comes out, id really like to find another good 1v1 game, i doubt hl2 will be it though. =(

HL2 is not coming out as of yet someone stole there source code and all there goodies. So they can get in trouble if the other party puts out a game and they do the same without there permission.

meh personally I'm not a single player kinda guy.....I get bored too quick. There's nothing like a kick ass multi-player game!

If I wanted to play single player against the computer I'd go play PS2
