Csports.net is kind of skewed in a way that if you set up your own server and put a bunch of level 1 bots on it... you can be number 1 on a ladder if you are fast enough. I don't really trust that site much.

They intercept packets.... I don't know. They probably have a thing like the all seeing eye. A server browser that tracks points.

it's with gamespy, wartex tried explaining it to me before.. it's just whenever someone connects to the server through gamespy it takes the score/whatever other stats are necessary at the moment and send them to the site. so basically none of it is accurate. it's basically saying "you are 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place on this mod during the times this person or these people were connected through gamespy on that particular server and it doesn't actually matter how many games you've won or what you're score was except for the short time the person was connected through gamespy"

I don't use gamespy... when someone else connects through gamespy? Like I'm on the server then someone else connects through gamespy to the server I'm on?

They don't even need to connect. That happens when you refresh the server/server list. I can make my server browser connect to their servers and report bullshit and make every one of us #1 in any mod.

ya it doesn't use gamespy... if you've noticed, however, software such as gamespy, the allseeing eye, and wartex' server browser can show the scores and settings of servers without connecting.... same as if you use the serverstatus command in q3 followed by an IP address... and CSports seems to think that the XBattle Mod is called Battle Bot, which it is not... so they are either retarded or there is actually a mod called Battle Bot that runs off of %quake%\battle
