[|DRC| Syntax]

Hey guys, I'm trying to improve on my accuracy, speed, and a number of other things(like my shitty attitude). I was wondering if you could give alittle advice on how I can go about doing this. A push in the right direction if you will. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Behave like an adult and drop your shitty attitude first of all, and after that I am sure more DRC members will be glad to give you an advice. Lower your sensitivity for 1v1 and use higher for CTF (like 1.5 times higher). Also make sure you get maximum fps from your comp. You may need to tweak your settings. If you want to improve accuracy and speed play Wang, psycheus, Rarek or Intekra, or better, play DM instead of insta - it will make you faster.

Okay, um in the realm of training with bots, what would you suggest for me to do to improve my 1v1 skill? It seems either the bots are too strong or too weak for me I can't really find an even match, and I don't think letting a Xaero bot own me for hours at a time will help with anything beside learning to dodge.

im tellin ya man.. work with bots on god mode.. THEN work on moving after that.. or work on moving and not getting hit THEN work with the bots on god mode.. helped my speed a shit load.

That's where you're wrong my friend. When I started playing I was your typical noob. Played alot of Excessive and Power Weapons. It's pure hysteria and it did'nt require that much skill. IU however is a mod of absolute skill, accuracy, and the ability to know where you are at all times as well as your enemies. Welcome to the Major Leagues. Get used to being owned majin, because it's going to happen alot. You found that out real quick on the servers last night.

You are VERY wrong in assuming that getting your ass whomped on by bots or other players will not improve your skill. I'm sure you can already own someone that is totally green. Your skill level is at a point where you need to take in as much as possible. Yes, tweak your settings. Learn to rail jump (and im not talking about straight up in the air). Practice against bots is some of the best training that you can get. The best part about it is, when you get owned by Xaero level 3 or 4 you wont get anyone insulting you.

Oh i know about getting owned lol, i do play with you guys enough to know i'm not the best around. I've been working on my rj's lately and have gotten alittle better, but i think for now i need to play against more humans, since bots dont rj and i learned most of what i do from playing against others. I'm getting there. Thanks for the advice

Your were right about playing DM i've been picking up speed, not a big advance, but any progress is better than none. Also i've been playing with psycheus abit on the insta server's that are up. he's fast

Lots of fun playing with you guys on the CPM thingy..or battle bot as that one website shows it. Marble and I just played by ourselves. He kinda got aggitated that i was using my favorite weapons more than others (Railgun and Shotgun or Lightening) Still lots of fun, and great practice

Argh I'm fucking pathetic!!! Was last place a bot go higher than i did!!!! I've been playing dm with you guys for awhile, I can now dodge grenedes (big woop) and my ability to switch weapons and not lose too much accuracy has improved.....got a long way to go

download cpma, the bots in there strafejump, bunnyhop, rocketjump and own. they even run armor and items.

Is it just me or are the actual cpma mod physics different from the cpma physics in X-Battle??? It seems like there is more air movement in the actual cpma mod for some reason

the differences are slightm but doublejumps (off of ledges and stairs) and rampjumps (off of ramps [duh] ) dont have the boost effect present in cpma. also, cpma physics v.2 has a movement speed cap, where as x-battle and cpma physics v.1 doesnt.

In a cpma server, to get the oldschool (sick) settings, do /callvote gameplay PMC .

Rails do 100 dmg.
Lightning knockback is higher.
No movement cap.
rockets knockback is lower.

I think Slim has a lot to offer in IU Syntax. He could easily show you all the jumps and other helpful techniques.

Yah, If anyone ever wants help on any of the CTF1 jumps from oldschool ones to the newer, that is something I can help with, but I think most of this thread is pretty old. I don't believe there are many DRC that still play ctf1. I don't play it much myself anymore either.
