Can anyone get me the command for changing weapons with the MWHEEL, cause i only know the bind for binding to the MWHEELUP/DOWN, but i need so i can put prev weapon and next on them thanks if you can help.

Set up your binds with keys close to your movement keys. So if you use asdw, it will go something like q = rocket, e = rail, 4 = lightning, f = sg, c = grenade, etc. If you use arrow keys do something similar. make rocket, rail, and lightning very easy to get to. Do it all through the options (like cut said). Don't use mouse wheel to change weapons; you'll get brutally stomped

I wasn't getting _THAT_ brutally stomped for someone who uses the mousewheel. Now I have to get used to these new settings.

I have them binded yet I still use the wheel. I need to just unbind the wheel and go cold turkey to break this bad habit.

arg, i did it in options at first, but it dosnt work when i go into game play. I know there is a bind. And i do have my keys set, but i like my MWHEEL much more

Are you not setting it while your in the certain mod.

no i am, i usally load the mod then join the servers. So i dont know what im doing wrong cause it says its binded when i see it, but when i get into play it dosnt do anything.

I lack the sophisitication of the other guys... but here is how I do it.

I go to one mod and set the binds as I want them.... say Battle. [Don't worry about the mouse button bind just now.] I use Win Explorer to find that mod folder (ie Battle), RIGHT-click the q3config.cfg file, choose Open With WordPad.

Edit the binds using the syntax shown for the other weapons binds. Sample:
bind MOUSE1 "+attack" = Shoot!
bind MOUSE2 "+moveup" = Jump
bind MOUSE3 "weapprev" = Prev weapon (or "weapnext" for Next weapon)
This will bind PREV weapon to mouse BUTTON... not wheelUP or wheelDOWN.

Save this file as onyx.cfg in the battle folder.

Join battle. Bring down console. TYPE /exec onyx.cfg This will execute that config file. When you exit the game, the q3config file *should* be a copy of the onyx.cfg settings. Next time you join Battle, it will load q3config.cfg file which has the settings you want.

I then copy the onyx.cfg file to every mod folder where I want those same, *exact* settings. When joining that mod, /exec onyx.cfg. Same result as above.

Now the gurus can probably tell you a hundred reasons why you should not do this... but it works for me. Just use WordPad to edit... NotePad will NOT list the config lines lined up to the left. If you don't understand, try both editors to see difference.

Lol, No i finally got it.
I found its /bind MWHEELUP weapnext and /bind MWHEELDOWN weapprev.
So im happy.

I'm guessing that must be a bot cvar? Might wanna remove that just incase someone tries it.
