Tuesday, February 3 2004, 17:15:51 #2100 Me = Dumbass I think I fried up part of my sound blaster audigy 2 zs... I got a new headset with a mic and I tried plugging it in to the jack but I forgot I didnt connect the wires right when I first built the box up. So I plugged in the mic and my comp shut off. I unplugged it and my computer turned back on with the internal alarm telling me that Im a dumbass and should be shot. Now my speakers when I use winamp or anything only play out of the left front, but when I do a test... all of the speakers work except the front right. It isnt the speaker on the front right because I switched it out and it didnt play during the test with a diff. one. The test I use says "left front, front center", etc. I uninstalled the drivers and software. Reinstalled. Still didnt work. I called the tech support and he told me to do all the things I did... but he still said that I should put in headphones to see if the card plays the right side in the headphones. Its worth a shot. Any ideas? I think I either screwed my card or blew a fuse somewhere...
I have a decoder hooked up to my tv dvd player and the surround sound speakers all work as they should. So its not the speakers. What do you think it is? |

Tuesday, February 3 2004, 17:33:28 #2102 Ill probably just end up using my "Not lying but not telling the whole truth" skills, to the tech people at creative so I can get a new one. I had this receiver from best buy that I wasn't using so I sold it on ebay, the guy got it... he emailed me and told me it was broken. So he sent it back to me and I refunded his money. I had no reciept for it. Only the box it came in and the manual. I went to best buy and got a full refund in store credit with no problem at all. All you have to do is act really friendly and try to make the people feel like it would be horrible if you had to leave with the broken item.

Tuesday, February 3 2004, 18:24:33 #2103 Ok, I fixed it. I just looked my comp square in the eye, threatened giving it a bath and all my music just started playing...
no, When I was installing the Mic I had to pull the tower towards me... slightly pulling out the cables to the card. I automatically thought when it stopped working that I must've broke something... damn my over-thinking mind. |
