Thursday, January 6 2005, 03:24:56 #19760 Mouse Mod Hands get sweaty when playing? Read on...
I bought plextor CD burner (for $20) and it had a useless fan in the back.
I decided to install it into my mouse. It's a 12 volt fan, so it will be extremely quiet on 5V USB or PS/2 power. I centered the fan and drilled 2 holes for srews, then drilled a 3mm hole in between. Then I used a set of drillbits making it bigger and bigger. Finally I used a stone to expand it. Then I used a 25 cent coin to expand it even more.
After that I took anti-fat-spray lid from a frying pan and cut out part of the aluminum net. Then I used a 5c coin to press the grille, making it 3-dimenstional:
Then I replaced one of the LED inside with a blue one, drilled a 6mm fole on top of the mouse and inserted a transparent pill made from a white broken LED. Here's the final product:

Thursday, January 6 2005, 05:40:21 #19771 I can't sleep with 1000 LEDS on. It gets to the point where there is an eery green glow. Nice alarmclock btw, I think I have the same one. When it goes off, does it let out a sound that will scare the shit out of you and wake you up out of a dead sleep?

Thursday, January 6 2005, 10:02:17 #19785 nice I've seen that one done before. It's an intricate mod. So I take it you have to buy an new frying pan? And you did all that sitting on your carpet? No kitchen table or anything. I like the pics of your setup. You can a true gamer pic from a regular computer user pic when the keyboard is shifted to the left like that lol It's kinda hard to see but what is your modem sitting on? If anyone needs a fan mouse it's wartex |

Thursday, January 6 2005, 17:57:16 #19800 I can install the blender blade as your door handle. Whenever someone touches it, capacitance sensor will trigger the webcam, that will do image analysis. If it does not recognize a person as a friend, motor will spin the blade.

Sunday, January 9 2005, 20:49:17 #19927 Dude you are fucking amazing at crafting stuff. That grill piece looks perfect. Too bad about the screws though, as it'd be a bit better without, but still amazing work right there.

Saturday, June 20 2009, 23:21:23 #42225 Bump. Reuploaded images. Yeah, the screws are kinda ugly but could be fixed with car body filler and spraypaint. Or hot-glued.
