Hey Man!

Sorry for this off topic question but I'm getting ready (actually have already) sold my caprice to go and get a honda. I've got some questions about what model I should get. I've been leaning towards a hatch si or a ex/si coupe. What base model is your civic? And I remember you saying somewhere or me reading something that said you have a H-22 motor in your civic.. is that true? I am now understanding what kinda beast your car is from talking with friends that know a bit about hondas. How hard what that swap to do? How much did you pick up your new motor for?

i have a 1995 civic ex coupe (si in canada)

as for having an H22... the rumors are true. a full modlist is available at http://civic.plex.nu

the thing is a serious beast! that motor in that car is uncanny. my friend had one a few years back and he did it all. ran a 12.4 with a 75shot.

later he turboed his and embarrassed a modded mustang cobra.

the swap was not too bad. just lack of right parts and lots of time was the issues we had. my friends helped a lot and it went well.

i got the motor for $2000 for the full swap with lsd tranny from Osaka jdm motors in montreal canada.

let me know if you need anything else

i do not recommend getting a motor from there as the motor i got is now almost completely dead.

I have a '98 Civic DX Coupe... can I be part of your group??? LOL. I haven't had any mods done to it yet because it has an automatic transmission, but I'm hopin' to get somethin worthy. My Civic topped out at 105 MPH but it was in fuckin' low RPMs in 4th gear at the time and it wasn't goin any faster. Stupid governors... and I only had a 2 mile strech, which should have been enough to get it up to 115 but whatever...

I voted for the Acura because it sounds expensive :-p

haha! stock civics are slow man. i topped out my coupe at 130mph in 5th gear, but not redlined when i had the original vtec motor (d16)

and then with the h22, i get over 100 in 4th gear with PLENTY of room for more speed, just not enough road. it can go as fast as 170mph in 5th, but i havnt tried yet because it doesnt run anymore

just buy a complete changeover. about $3000 for a full swap. (b series) which is very easy compared to H22.

few things have to be rewired for manual tranny, but it'll save you money in the longrun.
