Ahh sup OnX Very happy I would play quake more but my pc cant handle it (shitty isp goes a long way too :O). Eh while im at it, I might as well ask you a few questions Very happy Are there any good venues over near Columbia? About the only venues we have hooked up with soo far around missouri is Pops, Creepy Crawl, and Just Bills (or something like that). Also the Canopy Club (I think its near st louis but I really have no clue). Just wondering because if there were it would be nice to get a gig around there or possibly swing through on our short tour in august if it is not too far out of the way Smile

Oh well, new topic or old one, still get the same info flowing Very happy
Anyhow, I didnt know you had a band together Eek! Hell yeah man, we should swap a gig around your area sometime. If you have any open spots at one of your gigs just get back to me and I will discuss it with the rest of the band, shouldnt be a problem though since damn near every show we are booking now is in st louis or around it.

Maybe other people are interested in seeing a band? I dont know if I somehow pulled a nerve with you but if it is such a nusence then please delete it and we will continue this under a PM so maybe nobody else in the world will know about our secret plan to make a gig.

According to your first post the only person you are talking to is OnX. In such cases, you MUST use PMs. I don't see you asking of anyone else's opinion. So don't make a victim out of yourself.

hey pin, do you have a press kit? Get a demo recorded. Pay no less than $100 an hour unless you KNOW someone who is capable and will do it for cheaper. Press kit includes photos of band members, video of live performances, demo, and a list of performances and references from club owners and promoters. With this, you can get a show at any club you care to. All it takes is a determined manager/frontman. You can play any of the "hard rock live" venues., and after that, any club you want is pretty much open to you.

The guy we went to does it for $50 a song I think? All I know is that the new recordings are going to sound much better since he has upgraded his stuff. Other places are opening around that are pretty cheap and actually decent sounding. Main reason we got such a good deal was because we are good friends with the guy. You can hear our shit at www.southernrealm.com < I think my name is still listed as the bassist Very happy >. Those are older recordings, newer ones should be much better. Southern Realm is currently working on band photos and a video as well. The main promoter around here is dirty hall but everyone hates him since he has down syndrome ROFL
---Anyhow, this is shitty news. I have been removed from Southern Realm for a few reasons that the entire band understands of. 1) I do not have a bass half stack and have no job, which means there is no telling when I will get one. I always had to use someone elses at concerts and since we are starting to travel alot I will need to have my own. 2) My parent's do not take me serious in music. If we go on tour there will be a good chance I will not be able to go because my mom is weird. Since we are supposed to tour in August that means I will still be under parents rules. That also means my mom won't let me go, or if I did go without her permission then the rest of the band can get in deep shit.
--------------However, my main instrument is the lead guitar. I have all of the proper equipment for that Yes This means that I will probably be starting something new. I have some friends I am going to start getting together with and hopefully soon we can get things rolling. Thanks for the info monoxide Yes

Sorry to hear the bad news. As for recording, $50 a song is really cheap, one of the problems you may want to be on the look out for (when your new band gets up and running) is that after a song gets what the engineer decides is $50 of attention, the amount of effort he puts into the project may drop. One way to safeguard against this, is to request CDs or DATs of the pre-mixed tracks. With these, you can take the tracks to other engineers and have them mixdown. Another option, if you have access to the software and hardware, is to remix the tracks yourself. If you don't think the eq on the snare is done right, or the vocals sound a little muddy, you can loud it up in logic or protools (the more expensive of the two) and do your own mixdowns. This could also be used for taking songs in other directions, effects wise.
