Whenever I swith my computer on it just resets itself after about 10 seconds. The only thing I can do is access the bios and get to the menu that goes something like:

Safe mode
Safe mode with command prompt
Last Known Good Configuration

etc..

Can't get safe mode to work or the Last Known Good Configuration either

What's going on?

sounds like a virus.. try to disable everything on boot up.. hit , shit i think its f6 for step by step bootup... What was the last thing you installed? it could be a virus or something is causing it to restart like a program.. I know IPOD can cause hangs and reboots also..
try to disable everything on boot up... and one by one, turn something on till you find what is hanging..

I am sure wartex can probably help you better, but this advice may help as well

Did you have the auto-restore function enabled? (I don't know what it's called...) If you have it enabled, you might be able to revert the last changes... you could give that a try by booting into the recovery console.

Last thing I installed was months ago most probably. I can't think for the life of me where I would get a virus from because I don't visit dodgy warez sites or whatever. However I will try that Messiah. Thanks for your input also Zy

F6 didn't work. I'm trying the last known good config again.

WTF! I tried the last known good configuration and that didn't work then it decided to reset itself another 4 times. I was just going to leave it running and see what happened then it just booted up as normal! Expand? lol

This may not be helpful but I had the same type of thing going on about 2 months ago, it was my power supply, the thingy that coneverts everything down to what it needs. Had it replaced, and life is beautiful again, hehe.

Same problem again this morning except this time I left it going for about 20-30 mins while I was in the shower and it still hadn't booted up. Something is fucked up except yesterday I had it working . Ain't it a pain when computers don't work!!!!

Fixed. I took the cover off and almost died of asphyxiation. Imagine 1000 sheep skinned and the fur died grey. That's what it look like. I've since found out the problem was overheating, my CPU temp was 80 degrees (celcius!!!). I'm quite surprised it didn't melt tbh. Anyway the fan was clogged so I unstuck it (which took about a half hour) and since then it's been okay.
