i will.. Looks good. You can use tanks and WALKERS like in matrix 2-3. its four discs on CD-ROM and im on disc 4 of install right now. Story look promising and better then doom 3.

xbox cant handle doom3 get it got PC.

I kind of like q4 so far. I have played it for about an hour and its not bad.. Pretty fast paced action, lotsa shooting and stuff and seeing some of the older bad guys is kinda cool. Dont count it out yet.

125% the speed still doesn't say much....doom3's mp isn't even worth mentioning in the same sentence as quake.

so then your saying its better then doom3 MP? i like quake 4. I think is a good step in the right direction for the game. Granted its new and much is expected from it, but remember quake 3 has been around for a long time and its was only made for MP. It had an appeal people wanted. This game goes back to its roots and is trying to keep the appeal of MP. I think once people get into more and decided to mod it. It will be better the quake 3 as far as multiplayer goes.

I like the Idea of also going back to CO-OP play inside the game like they didnt in quake 2. So anyone down for some co-op play?

I have an issue with the naming system. It is great they have a spot for CLAN TAG. But |DRC| tag doesnt fit due to the colors used you can only fit |DRC. Unless we were to change the color of the last line to the same color as the C.

I enjoy q4. But, I also enjoyed doom3 mp. (once swelt started mapping for it.)
I have high standards for any game that I buy. The main reason is that I don't usually play single player. When I open a game, fresh out of box (hereafter refered to as F.O.B) I want to LAN. I want smooth flowing maps with good r_speeds. I want weapon balance. I want challenge. And I want fun. All in exchange for my $$$. Q4 has not disappointed me so far. Here are my only complaints.

Lack of Brightskins F.O.B.
Little Depth in Custom Server options.
the FPS CAP. (I think they should have used pmove)

The first 2 are rapidly being remedied, and the last one is just somethign we will just have to live with.

one more gripe. lag reguarding playing back netdemos.
I was watching the demos I recorded at a lan competition, and it was like watching someone play with 150 ping. It was strange.

I am sure all these things will be ironed out in future point releases. I just hope they dont go the RPG path and make you pay for all expansions and updates like they tried with doom 3

I just finished playing like 4 hours of DM. I must say its really good. Very fast..no lag. Seems to keep your stats as far as accuracy and stuff. Will know more when I reconnect.

They have a NEW version of the EDGE which is areally awesome map. They made it even better. The NEW tourney setup is the best. They Everyone plays at once on different arenas. They setup brackets and you move on in the brackets if you win. If you lose then you have to spec till next game. FUN FUN FUN. Weapons are pretty decent and railgun seems to be slower but it may just be me who is slow. Well worth if for the MP.

Well some diehards have already made a q4 jump movie, I watched it, but I have no idea if what I'm looking at means a damn thing.

let me know what you think. I sure want to hear that physics in q4 are similar to q3, or at least in some way require skill to get good at. Stuff like strafing, air strafing, turning while running, building speed to clear large gaps, using knockback, etc. One reason I'm not interested in the Halo's and half life's and CS's multiplayers is that they're just.... blah. There is no depth to the controls like in q3. Other shooters just feel sluggish and cheap. 'Mastering the controls' involves setting up binds, and your done. Then you look at the pretty graphics.

btw on the mirror links page, i couldn't get the filefront file to extract properly, I had to d/l from the other one. might save you a few minutes of confusion there.

Yesterday q4 shipped to our home (mel had ordered before). So
she set it up on her laptop and I watched her play some. This thing
needs a monster computer to run! Her laptop is already quantum
leaps ahed of mine and all she got was like 5-15 fps.
I'm not even going to try to install it on my machine...
So far it looks like the two of us are blocked out of playing q4
until we both get a better machine.

My other system is self-composed PC, years old:
850 Mhz
384 Mb Ram
Geforce2 Mx
4 HDs

So yeah, q4 is definitely out of league for me.
