Does anyone know if I bought a game from the USA that it would run on my computer here at the UK, if so, I'll be coming back from Florida with Quake 4 clutched in my right hand

It depends on what OS you are running. If you are running and english version of XP or other then it should be fine!

Thats actually a pretty legit question Death, because I know that some DVD's will not work in other countries, but I don't know which ones will work either.........Wartex knows more about that because he had the same problem with a DVD player that wouldn't play Russian DVD's.

If it is a problem, I'm sure someone has written a hack for it

as far as i know this country id is only on movie dvd's and on a computer it does not matter what country id that dvd has because there are plenty of tools to play every country id on a dvd-rom/dvd-rw

and a computer game will always work as far it supports the kernel of an os

do you really think that the Taiwanese the German or the US version of windows XP is diffrent except the GUI
NO its not because you can make an German version of XP look like an US one

the only problem i see in buying a game from a diffrent country is that it may be in a foreign language itself
so you can not read the installer and the game content itself

I find it even more hilarious because I have been trying to get through to Wartex about a couple things like his access issue with serverxtreme and asking for the admin password for our server and I get no replies. But lately I have been getting these kinds of emails and messages!

1) I can now access the SX server admin
2) The DRC q3 server is NOT the one you pay for (just clarifying)
3) Rcon pass on your server is in the config "quake3/battle/cfg/custom/_server.cfg", no need to ask me, you could have looked it up yourself ages ago, but OK I will PM it to you.
4) All my responses are valid arguments, and not just bitching at you because I want so. I have 30 people asking questions, I work 12+ hour shifts, I manage DRC, DRC radio, I'm working on DRC TV, 2 forums, and I sleep about 5 hours a day. I don't have TIME to answer questions that you can answer yourself.

Well I Guess the issue is in this last statement. Your too busy to answer something you say I can answer myself. But you find the time to point out the short comings of others. All I was trying to do was help someone on this topic and you find it appropriate to comment in a way that is not nice or helpful! I suggest answering the 30 people instead of making fun of others who are tryin to help others. FYI, I couldnt answer the question about serverxtreme myself and i was under the impression that with my new rank in DRC I get ADMIN priledges to the DRC server. I may be wrong on that.. but any.. I find it not important anymore. I guess the feeling of being ignored has taken it toll.

Not looking to start trouble or pick fights. But I guess I have had enough at this point.

Messiah. This should be a good place to start. You will have to get past some of the flames, but being as this thread is 131 comments strong, you should be able to find configs and anything else you would need.

to change the mod, you will most likely need to message your provider with a request for a command line change.

Replace Mod-X with whatever the battle folder is called.
