Is it possible for me to convert Quake demos into a video file? Like an avi or mpeg? I've been looking for awhile and came up with nothing.

Yes Manne you'd need a special program, Arclite gave me one, but I still wouldn't mind getting some info from the guys that have done it already.

Nope he's not... There IS a program called CamStudio... You can record what's on your screen. (It records sound too)

I recorded some Q3 demos into AVI. Pretty nice. But it'll lag if CamStudio settings are screwed.

A good friend of mine helped me out.

Ok my plan was to make the avi, then use windows movie maker or something else to add in music.

I use Acid 4.0 (music program) or you can use SoundForge 6.0 to edit sound files.

I think its easier to make the movie then lay down the music. I remember a friend of mine did the music first and was retarded. Instead of making the movie fit the song length its the other way around.

Lets see, I do photoshop, gaming, constant downloading/uploading, word processing, creating animated gifs, and........yes I have a porn stash but every good porn fan has a great site with hundreds of free clips....and hey...I do.

You want an easy way to make quake movies? Follow with me.

Do a search for Fraps v2.1 or Fraps v2.2, download it, crack it, or not. Install it, run it, and pick the codec you want to capture at. Then, go to your demo that you have recorded, bind a key to say F9....which will start recording. Press F9 again to stop the recording.

Fraps is a screen capture program, its awesome, it can cap in avi and mpeg2. Whatever is on your screen moving around will get captured though, and also, any other sound that is playing in the background will be capture too. Its a good pragggy that I used when I made my quake video.

I can only imagine the framerate and quality of that movie. Especially it is fun to edit compressed video and recompress it. Audigy, we know what we are talking about here.

i think the video i made using my pc and a usb capture too is cool as hell. it gives that grainy lores feel and the compression artifacts are out of this world!
