Like when you use you rocket launcher or rail gun to jump.
Can you do that when ever and just take some damage or does a certain setting have to be on.
And is there some trick to getting it to work right, cause I just keep wasting more ammo than jumping Confused

FOR GOD'S SAKE, DO NOT POST ALL SHIT INTO GENERAL! I moved this topic from Daily Drool.
We just spoke yesterday about spam! Read the rules again! http://wartex.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21 And read carefully! I'm tired of fucking moving 10 topics every day, people come to "Server Admins" and "ohh, look at this funny flash cartoon"!!! Mad
-----------

It depends on server setting. In Insta rail- or rocketjumping doesn't hurt you, but it does in X-Battle. Everything depends on whether it's appropriate to jump. If I'm "cooking" someone for 5 minutes and they run away up the stairs with 10 health, I'll rocketjump and finish them, even if I will end up with 50 health left myself, but if you met someone who just picked up a red armor and MH, then the only good reason to rocketjump will be if you are running away.

To rocketjump good you need to make sure you are getting good FPS and they are capped using com_maxfps variable (frames per second), preferably 85, 95 or 125, unless pmove_fixed is enabled on server (that's a variable that makes quake render everything as if all clients get 125 fps regardless of actual client's FPS). For example, Poo has PIII-500, her jumps will be shorter than Intekra's, who has PIV 3+ GHz. Then you need to make sure you have a good forward speed and you shoot the ground 90° down, and hit jump key at the same time.

Well i have a PIV 1.3 GHz (I forgot if 1.3 is PIV or PIII) but the game laggs for new every now and then, would it affect my jump that much once I am able to do it?

PS. I honestly didn't mean not to post it hear, I don't know why I put it in general, I guess I forgot about this section...sorry
