I used to play on that server religiously back in 2005/2006. When Quake Live was released, I was motivated to resume my Instaunlagged addiction, only to find that JuJu's, and pretty much every other decent Insta server was gone.

So I did what any self-respecting techy with an under-utilized server would do; I set up an InstaUnlagged server and tried to capture the feel of the old server I used to spend so much time on.

I know many from DRC used to play on Jujus, so if anyone here wants to relive some instaunlagged glory, stop on by and say hello.

what version are you running? If you are running stock 1.32, go to http://ioquake3.org/ and download their version. It supports fast HTTP map download which is actually why q3 was such a big failure - people were getting "invalid pk3" messages because they didn't know or want to download maps.

I still have a very solid map pack for IU and maybe we can create a closed community. We also had a very fast q3 server but shut it down due to lack of interest.

I'm running the latest version, 1.32c. I will look into possibly installing ioquake3. In the meantime however I did create a custom map pack for the server (right at the front of the home page: http://demonexile.com/). It could of course be improved to a small download setup file and have it only download the maps/packs that are missing from the user's system, but I wanted to get something up ASAP that was easier than hunting down individual zip files.

Could you upload or list your IU maps? I've been doing my own research at lvlworld.com and have found some potential gems there.

WOW... that's quite a collection. Do you have any personal faves from that collection for InstaUnlagged? I've only tried a small subset of those. speedyctf is the best one of those I have tried imo.

I also saw you have a build of instaunlagged I did not come across. The version I'm running (1.2 beta 3) has a problem with bots being repeatedly kicked when a player is spectating.

To me, JuJu's was a bastardized IU, but I still played it. Anywhere with lots of people was ok. I'd play that shit with the faster movement and 12 on 12? in a second right now. Are these kind of servers dead now with QL?

For me, BUBCTF was rambo 5 guys then get your head split down the top by the enemy hiding with your flag on his base. ... loved it though

Hey SLIM, I have the feel of Jujus pretty much nailed down on my server, starting to get a few regulars playing every now and then, but it's a slow process building up a player base these days for Q3.

I also have the BUBCTF equivalent q3wcp23 on the server, as well as a few other gems.

I've been running around on QuakeLive, is there CPM on there?

It was so easy to get through training mode, there's so many whiney scrubs in "Tier 4" games that really belong in T2.

For not playing in some years, I cause some chaos in QL.

I just played a long time over there, I like the setup and my connection is good. Not one person showed up though. Oh well it was still fun kicking the shit out of the bots.

I haven't been paying close attention to the development of Quake Live, have they introduced the ability to setup your own private server now?

Well, after too long, DemonExile InstaUnlagged is back online. Cleaned up the forums after spammers wreaked it, and everything is pretty much back to normal now.
