Tuesday, May 27 2008, 23:49:09 #40949 Review : Makita LXT BTP140 hybrid impact vs DeWalt NANO DC827 Impact driver Bought a yellow kit at HD just to see what it is. DeWalt impact is about 30% stronger than Makita despite close specs:
Makita 1280 in/lbs @ 3200 IPM Dewalt 1330 in/lbs @ 2700 IPM I forgive Makita for lying about torque because the tool itself is very good at what it does - drilling, masonry drilling and driving screws, light doesn't go out as soon as you release the trigger and it comes with belt hook and bit holder. Dewalt comes with 2 holes where they attach, but no hook and only 1 "classic" bit holder in the base. Makita batteries are higher capacity (3 vs 2.2 Ah) but shittier technology - shorter shelf life and less charge-discharge cycles. My video (notice how Makita slows down when the bolt is deep in the 4x4): Link on YouTube Still have both and love both. It's like some kind of weird love triangle - can't sell Makita because it's so versatile but want to keep dewalt too because it's very powerful, has awesome battery and feels very nice in hand. |
