Ballbot, a self-balancing robot cruising on a urethan-covered ball.

Ever since human simulating robots have been around, there has been
the problem of balancing them while they move. Their very hight and
thinness poses problems that are not yet adequatly solvable.

I personally don't see it as being a good solution. Also, it reacts quite
"insecurely" to little pushes. What do you think?
