I've tried a few times now to set up a local game using the cpma or Battle mod and I can't get it to work. I want to be able to run the cos-beta7 map (I think thats what it is) to practice tricks and jumps and record demos.

When i go to mods, I have a battle game and cpma. Which one should I be using to do this? I didn't see the cos-beta map under either mod and I know I have it because I've played it on the server. So thats another mystery. Also, when I load cpma, all of the text is greyed out. I can't read any map descriptions or add/remove bot info. I remember someone at one time talking about that problem but it was more than 15 minutes ago so I forgot. Regardless, I can't get a local game to run on either mod, it freezes up durring "connecting". I've run local IU games before and had none of these problems.

Any ideas? thanks

there is no defrag in my mod list. So another mod won't even play that map? I guess I really just have no idea how this all works. I plead ignorance.

but still maps that ARE in the list won't work.

**ok, downloaded defrag and seems to work well. already working on a trick Smile anyone want to get in on this stuff? it would be cool to get some 2 person tricks going. I'd still like to know whats up with that greyed out problem.

well I'm gonna be getting a 2nd pc here in the next week or so, its a freebie (relatives old pc that they don't want and I was like HEY I'll take that off your hands Wink), pent III (don't know the speed) 256mb ram, 20gig hd, onboard video, cheapie monitor, some other shit not worth mentioning. Point is I'd like to set it up as a stand-alone defrag server meant only for tricking. Obviously I'll need help on the setup not just with server settings but with getting things square with my router and such but I'll post again when I get the pc actually in here.
