Does anyone play this? Latley with all the talk of Final Fantasy I've been getting the bug to get back into "a" RPG, but I'm undecided which one I want to get.

I looked at Star Wars Galaxies (a.k.a. SWG in the RPG world) and it looks awesome! The website, updates, and servers seem to be all supported by Sony, and they have dedicated teams to make new maps etc; I spent a little bit time browsing around their forum, and website and OMG this game is MASSIVE! Just while I was checking it out there were almost a 1000 registered users online, and close to 2000 visiters!

I did some reading about it, and this game would/could turn into your life if you let it. It could potentially devour your sole! There is SO much information and things to learn, its litterly like your there part of the world.

I thought it would be awesome if we could get into this as a team for a number of reasons.

1. It would bring us closer
2. We could all learn together and help each other out. From what I've seen on their forum the poor noobs that join by themselves have quite a hard go of it, but thats why they have customer support as well
3. It would be something new for us outside the FPS gaming scene, and expand our community to be even larger, and more well known!


Here's the kicker though. I know I always said that I would never pay a monthly fee to play a game online when I can play one for free, BUT I am now re-thinking that statement. I do think it would be easier to just pay for a year and be done with it until the year is up, plus if you pay a year in advance its alot cheaper than by the month.

This is up to you guys, but I'll have to say that I am interested for sure

Ok bitches, Wang has just bought Star Wars Galaxies and I will be buying it soon (probally later today) but not installing it until the beginning of next month because of everything going on with moving and what not. The reason is you get the first month for free and I want to get the full benifit out of it so I'm willing to wait another couple weeks

This could be a SHIT load of fun for everyone but does cost $14.99 USD/month to play. This is a fully supported game and not some lame ass BS. That is the price you pay to have an ever changing environment.

Wang has a friend who is into the game already and (from my understanding) is quite knowledgeable on the basics and how to play etc; so we could all hook up on Skype (with any luck) and help each other out


In short.........if you can afford it...........BUY IT NOW!!!! ....and you will be forever in my blessings

I can't play it, but I have heard awesome things about it, completely time progressive world, even when you're not online....wish I could play.

I still need to watch the last 2 movies.

It sounds pretty cool. I will look into to it and see if its my kinda thing.. have to check my finances also. I just don't know about the 15 bucks a month.

This game is HUGE.....I mean I opened the box and dumped the contents into my hands which ended up being a book/manual a good 1/2 inch thick!

I'm really looking forward to getting into this..... after some reading I discovered that you choose the "Galaxie" you enter (a.k.a. Server) You can only have one character per Galaxie/Server but you can join up to 10 different Galaxies with a different character on each one!

I think I'm going to be a human and take the marksman trade.

meh.....WoW doesn't impress me. I think its mostly the game design because everything is from a "birds eye view" which is not my style of play. If it was all first person or third person I would probally already be playing it

Go to the website at check the screen shots, there is a 1st person camera angle, to a drawn back 3rd person. this is not the isometric warcraft we speak of.

I have played every Warcraft game/expansion out there. I found it fun for a while, but the luster quickly faded. Just something about the Warcraft universe that I could'nt get into.

After playing 30 minutes in SWG I am hooked. Now I just need to go buy some more memory.

Yeah I played Warcraft III and just couldn't get into it. i can only chop so many trees down and build so many huts before I start yawning

Wang you best be getting your shit soon, because I'm playing alot now..lol....so much for waiting until the end of the month! I was running some jobs for a "criminal" character and got killed a couple of times in the process but did complete the missions all by myself......I had a speeder given to me but actually earned "the deed" to one myself after I went to the bar and shook my booty with a some really hot chick LOL....it was way to funny man you would have been on the floor laughing! haha

I would definaltey get as much RAM as possible.....even with 1 GB RAM and 256 MB on my ATI 9800 PRO I know I still could use more but it is very playable and seems to run pretty smooth all in all
