Monday, March 23 2009, 13:53:31 #41327 Updated information Hello sirs and...possible ma'ams? ....I'm not sure I even remember any of the girls from here... D: (hold one).
Anyway, didn't realize it had been 2 years since my last post D: (I lurk mostly...). Updated all of my information for contact, since I haven't and realized all my stuff has changed somewhat since I initially made this account. As far as gaming goes I'm mainly on PSN playing Street Fighter/Killzone2/Re5/CoD:W@W (PSN ID Syntaxxor). Or sometimes playing Left4Dead on Steam (again Id is Syntaxxor). I do kinda (KINDA) play WoW Still, but that's alittle meh, like twice a week. I see this QuakeLive stuff has popped up, I don't really know about that, Quake 5 better become Quake 5 Arena, or I'm going to be seriously pissed off. On a side note, I'm still an idiot _________________ The truth only hurts the weak minded. |

Monday, March 23 2009, 20:07:34 #41329 Nah, the reason my name is Syntaxxor on those places is cause I already have a DRCsyntax or slight variation of it :3.
Bleh...but dood, about three minutes ago, the CV_axles on my car broke.... so much for gaming |

Saturday, March 28 2009, 10:22:33 #41338 Yeah that's exactly what mine were doing...for about a year haha; every turn they would crunch and make sounds, and they finally broke.
I bought another car already, same model, different year! (1994 Mazda Protege). Changing the axels is easy, but I'd rather sell my old one and start working on the newer stronger one. What do you drive Wartex? |

Sunday, March 29 2009, 00:13:38 #41339 Toyota Camry '94, the "luxury" edition (A/C, sunroof, locks, CD player and all that shit). I like it but so far it cost me over 2 grand. New alternator, new suspension, new control rods, ball joints, water pump, radiator, flex pipe. It's at a stage where there is no more than 3 months between major breakdowns.
I'm replacing front axles and next time it fucks up I'm selling it. I drove it around construction sites for 2 years and it took A LOT of beating. Electrical harness is torn somewhere, so no CD player power and no roof light PS: I got it for free |

Sunday, March 29 2009, 16:40:33 #41340 Dang, alot of repairs indeed.
This is my third protege, I started with a 1993 (free) then bought a 1991 (1k and put about 2k into it) and now I'm a 1994 (1100). I love these little cars their awesome, I just keep breaking them before I get a chance to up them to their full potential. Some douchebag broke off my side mirror this morning.....gotta replace that when I get home. |

Monday, March 30 2009, 00:08:49 #41343 That is LAME; if you have a few tools you can do it without blowing the cash on the labor, it's actually really simple..aside from the impossibly hard part of removing the axel with a pry bar/cat's paw.
Turns out that douchebag that broke my mirror, went around the entire neighborhood doing the same thing to almost everyone. |

Monday, March 30 2009, 11:56:00 #41344 If you still have that Camry its a bitch. There is a bearing on the pass side that you have to heat with a torch. Once thats done putting it back in you may need a torch also

Monday, March 30 2009, 23:01:55 #41346 You can do it on the floor, but it's slightly harder because you'll have WAY less leverage, which you'll need to actually get the axels out. (takes ALOT)
Jack it up, get it on jack stands, get the wheel off; basically like doing a brake job, except you just move the rotor assembly and brake assembly out of the way, and you're already at the CV-axel; which needs to be loosened. It's a pretty big sized nut, I forgot the exact size but if you go to in the auto parts store and tell em what you're doing, they'll give you the right size. A ratchet and a cheater pipe can get this off, if you have an impact wrench it'll go a lot easier. Once you get that loose, you basically pop the axel out with your pry bar or cat's paw. When you pop it out the gear oil will start spilling out, so it's smart to have an oil pan handy; if you can pull that one out and stick in the new axel fast enough you'll save some of the oil. Once you get the new axel in, you just do everything backwards, make sure to have a chisel or flathead screw driver somewhere near with a hammer to knock in a part of the retainer nut. errrr a haynes book or a chilton book will help more with pics and stuff, since I'm not too keen on how Camry's look down there. This is just the basic summary. |

Friday, April 3 2009, 11:09:08 #41354 you can do it on the ground but its really cramped if you have that bearing. If not its cake. Take off axle nut/possible outer tie rod end/use a hammer and made a part of a 2x4 to hit the axle out/pry bar to sep from trans. If it has that bearing there are 3 bolts on it right by the exhaust. That should be it trying to remember in detail. havent done one on a toyota in years.

Friday, April 3 2009, 11:30:20 #41356 I drive a 12 year old Lincoln town car. On the outside, still appears to be a new-ish fancy car. On the inside though.... 3 window motors blown. A/C won't cool. Horn stopped working (and they don't make the replacement part anymore). Has a 10 disc cd changer, also doesn't work.
What I reeeeaaallyy want is a new dodge Challenger; I love the way they look. I guess that's my current inspiration for earning money :L |

Friday, April 3 2009, 11:33:12 #41357 Goto a junk yard to take care of that.
The dealership should carry the motors, my Mazda is 18 years old and I can still pick up stuff from there. (Well the model is, I'm now driving a 94 instead of the 91) Get a freon recharge kit form vatozone! |

Friday, April 3 2009, 15:55:39 #41364 His car may have older freon in it. R12 is illegal to get unless your a hvac certified tech or certified mechanic with a/c "I am" tehe.

Friday, April 3 2009, 16:02:37 #41365 but should be ok r12 is older cars you should have the newer freon 134a. If so your good with the VATOzone freon.

Sunday, April 5 2009, 14:28:33 #41378 If it's busted "somewhere" it's busted period usually...which is lame; very lame.
An automatic tranny is far more expensive than a manual..... (one of the reasons I only drive 5spd) |
