I would like to get a server but they are expensive. Like 5.50 US per player. Thats for private or public. So it will take a bit. But its very easy to admin the server. I sure you have tried one from your own pc. There is a huge huge admin list and details. You can now set net rate and fps. It is no longer capped. Also it can be set dynamically from server or client side. Gotta love auto adjustments for the none console savy.

Actually I haven't tried that yet Marble. That would be awesome though if you did get one. The only thing I don't like about UT 2K4 is how long the maps take to load.

A Problem I've had with the UT2k4 dedicated server is that it will drop mutators after map change.

Recommended mutators

UTcomp RC2 (or newest version) This is a must have. It adds warmup mode, client voting, brightskins, and hitsounds.

Recommended mutators:
No Superweapons
No Sniperrifles (replaces sniper pickups with the Lightning Gun)
No Adrenaline

Recommended server settings:

1v1

Timelimit 15
Fraglimit 0
Hitsounds : Line of sight
Brightskins : UTcomp

tdm

Timelimit 20
Fraglimit 0
Hitsounds and birghtskins same as above.



This is the standard setup I have running for my lan servers for tournaments and such.
