Hey Guys,

I have another project that is getting information about what is out there for phone and voicemail systems (hardware and software). I know that Cisco has gear to do this but looking to see what else is out there?

Initially I was told about just getting remote voicemail boxes and there are tons of companies out there doing this, I've found them from $1/box all the way up to $9/box. But I'm getting a feeling that they are going to want to have an actual inbound and outbound service. VOIP is the first thing that came to mind. If anyone knows anything on this subject please chime in..

Needs some suggestions and opinions. Thanks!

Thanks! Does this run on Linux or Windows? I couldn't find any specific information about that. Also we are going to need over 200 lines. Is this still feasible? This is for a charter school the way I'm imaging it is like this...

200 lines, with mailboxes, phones and phone forwards.. Some will be physical lines others will just be voicemail boxes with forwards to a cell phone or other phone.

It runs on linux, and yes it can do whatever you need, just need a decent PC and depends on how many outside lines you will have.

Well if you use voip and want multi lines"ip based" you can use a pbx with cap for VM and cisco 800 series routing. I used to use those for business apps. I did low level stuff not sure of configs and such off the top of my head.
